Day 1: Arrival in Paro

Arrive at Paro International Airport from New Delhi / Kolkata / Kathmandu / Bagdogra and proceed to the capital city, Thimphu. In the afternoon, visit Takin Zoo, National Library, and Tashi Chho Dzong. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 2: Discovering Thimphu, the Capital

 

After breakfast, explore the capital city of Thimphu. Visit the Handicraft Emporium, Bhutanese traditional paper factory, National Memorial Chorten, Buddha statue, and Centenary Park. Spend the evening shopping or at leisure in the city. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 3: Journey to Punakha

 

 

Embark on a scenic drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass. Stop at Druk Wangyal Chorten for panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range. Continue to Lamperi and explore the Royal Botanical Park before proceeding to Punakha. En route, visit Chimmi Lhakhang temple or enjoy a short walk. In the afternoon, visit the majestic Punakha Dzong and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Punakha.

Day 4: Punakha to Paro

 

 

After breakfast, drive to Paro and visit Paro Dzong on the way, located on a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley. Explore the old ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a 17th-century fortress destroyed by fire in 1951. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 5: Sightseeing in Paro

Begin the day with a visit to the iconic Tiger’s Nest monastery, perched 900m above the ground. Legend has it that Padma Sambhava flew here from Tibet on the back of a tiger. En route, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred monasteries. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or explore the town for shopping. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 6: Departure
