Detailed Itinerary:

 

Day 01: Arrive Paro
– Welcome to Paro, home to one of the most spectacular mountain flights in the world.
– After lunch, explore Paro with visits to the National Museum and Rimpong Dzong.
– Walk across the cantilever wooden bridge and settle in at your hotel.

 

Day 02: Paro
– Hike to Taktsang Monastery, perched on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro valley.
– Visit the reconstructed Drukgyel Dzong and other sights in Paro valley.
– Overnight in Paro.

 

Day 03: Paro – Shana
– Trek begins from Drukgyel Dzong with a walk through rice terraces and forests.
– Camp at a scenic spot near Sharma Zampa.
– Overnight camping.

 

Day 04: Shana – Soe Thangthangkha
– Trek through pine, oak, and spruce forests along the Paro river.
– Enjoy lunch amidst Rhododendron forest and camp at Soe Thangthangkha.
– Overnight camping.

 

Day 05: Soe Thangthangkha – Jangothang
– Trek above the tree line with stunning views of Chomolhari and Jichu Drake peaks.
– Arrive at Jangothang, campsite offering superb mountain views.
– Overnight camping.

 

Day 06: Jangothang – Dangojang
– Hike back to Jangothang to witness the first day of the mountain festival.

– Return to Jangothang base camp.

 

Day 07: Jangothang – Dangojang
– Optional second day of the festival with guided trekking activities in Soe.

– Descend to campsite at Lingshi with views of Lingshi Dzong.

Day 09: Lingshi – Shodu

– Trek along Thimphu Chu through forests and gullies.
– Camp at Dolam Kencho pastureland.
– Overnight camping.

 

Day 12: Dolam Kencho – Dodena – Thimphu
– Trek to Dodena and drive to Thimphu.
– Enjoy sightseeing in Thimphu including memorial chorten, temples, and museums.
– Overnight in Thimphu.

 

Day 13: Thimphu – Paro
– Further exploration of Thimphu before returning to Paro.
– Overnight in Paro.

 

Day 14: Depart Paro
