Taktsang, translating to “Tiger’s Nest” (where Tak means Tiger and Tsang means Nest), is one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites, deeply rooted in Vajrayana Buddhism. According to legend, Guru Padmasambhava flew to this location on the back of a tigress from Bhutan’s eastern regions, which inspired the name Taktsang.
