Day1- Paro Airport – Six Senses Lodge- Thimphu
On day 1, our executives will greet you at the Paro international airport upon your arrival followed by an hour’s drive to Thimphu. Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan. It sits at a height of 2200 meters. Located amidst a valley, Thimphu is the one and only city in the entire world with no traffic lights.
After reaching, you will check in to the Six Senses Property in Thimphu, perched at 2,755 meters. Spread over a sprawling 15 acres of land, this place offers visitors an ideal condition to get used to the high-altitude atmosphere.
While on this property, you will enjoy the uninterrupted vistas of Buddha Dordenma, thick pine forest, and captivating apple orchards. Even though this property is located a few miles away from the main city, it enjoys an excellent connection with the town.
After spending the evening relaxing on the balcony or swimming in the pool, enjoy your dining time in our terrace restaurant relishing the scrumptious dishes prepared by some of our chefs. You can pay a visit to the nearby statue of Buddha Dordenma to enjoy its splendor or climb the heights of Changangkha Lhakhang to feel energized.
Day 02- Six Senses Lodge Thimphu
The next day, you can begin your day in Bhutan by joining a special activity at the spa. Yoga, meditation, etc., remain available in our spa on alternate days.
Post breakfast, our guide will take you on a day tour that will include a visit to several places of importance. The first half of the day tour will include visiting Simply Bhutan Museum, Zorig Chusom, National Textile Museum, etc.
Later, you can also walk through the area to get mingled with its vibes. For spiritual life, you can join the locals for circumambulating the Memorial Chorten.
As the day approaches its end, the guide will take you to the famous fortress Tashichho Dzong to visit the throne rooms and offices once used by the King and the religious head of Bhutan.
You can also book a tea time sitting at the Lungsigang on your way back. Alternatively, we can also arrange for a special message to waive your jetlag fatigue. However, both these alternatives remain available on advance booking.
Day03 – Six Senses Thimphu “Palace in the Sky” – Six Senses Paro “Stone Ruins”
On the third day morning, you will start from Thimpu to reach Paro along the East-West highway. On your way, you will stop by the 3 stupas located near Chuzom Bridge, upholding exquisite Nepali, Tibetan, and Bhutanese architecture.
On your arrival at Paro, Rinpung Dzong will greet you with warmth. On its way, you will cross a traditional wood-crafted bridge, named Nyamai Zampa. Visit the Dzong and tour the Paro National Museum to explore the history and tradition of Bhutan at its best. If you wish to join a local farmhouse to enjoy a cozy lunching experience, you need to book it in advance.
After the day’s activities, you will return to the Six Senses property in Paro. Perched at a height of 2870 meters, beside the fifteenth-century fortress’s ruins, this place will allow you breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and the ancient stone ruins set against the backdrop of the lodge.
If you love adventure, indulge in the game of archery with the guide or driver to spend some friendly time. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on your balcony, beholding the unparalleled beauty of the place.
Day 04- Six Senses Lodge –Paro Valley
A trip to Bhutan cannot be complete without a visit to the famous Tiger’s nest, locally known as Taktsang Goemba. The fourth day of your stay in Bhutan will be the day you will hike to this outstanding place.
A sacred pilgrimage for the residents of Bhutan, this place enjoys the unadulterated beauty of nature. The legend of the eighth-century Guru Rinpoche, who supposedly came to this place on a flying tiger’s back and heralded Buddhism in this region, will undoubtedly transport you to a far-off fantasy land.
On your way to Paro town, you will visit Kyichu Lhakhang, a temple built in the seventh century. This temple has 2 orange trees that remain fruit-bearing for the entire year.
After finishing the day’s tour, if you feel like it, you can join a message in the spa or relax by the poolside. Spa therapies remain available for the guests subject to prior booking.
Day 05- Six Senses Lodge – Paro Valley
The fifth day of your stay in Bhutan will begin with a visit to the places like Goemdra, a local meditation center, local fortress, Zurig Dzong. The serene trail through the pine forest remains dotted with all these places. You can also collect a few gifts from the Paro town shops selling authentic local artifacts.
The evening tour will cover Samtenling Monastery. You can light the butter candles in the temple and seek Lord Buddha’s blessings. Alternatively, you can dine under the stars sitting by the ruins of Chubjakha. Based on advance booking, we can arrange for an eventful evening with music, local dance, and traditional food.
Day 06: Six Senses Lodge Paro to Airport
